Missoula Parks and Recreation, the Canyon Creek Village Homeowners Association and the Grant Creek Neighborhood Council invite residents to a Park Design Workshop for Red Fern Park on Wednesday, October 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Kids ages 5 and up are welcome to attend the children’s design workshop at the same time. A light dinner will be served.
The workshop will allow residents and Parks and Recreation to develop a master park plan for the 2.4-acre park, which is located at 4800 Chesapeake Dr. in the Canyon Creek Village neighborhood. A master park plan represents the community’s vision for the park and sets a course for future development. A comprehensive master park plan also allows the City to seek funding for future park development via public and private partnerships, state and federal grants, developer impact fees and the City budget.
The workshop will meet at The HUB Family Entertainment Center, 5055 Expressway, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Residents should plan to stay for the entire session, if possible. Children must have an adult in attendance.
Missoula Parks and Recreation is funding the park planning process and site inventory. For more information, contact Parks and Trails Design/Development Coordinator Nathan McLeod via email or by phone at 552-6261.
