Utility Assistance Programs

Utility Bill Assistance

Assistance programs are available to our water and wastewater customers who may need help paying these utility bills.

The program is offered through the state’s Dept. of Public Health and Human Services and administered through Missoula's Human Resource Council. Information is available at https://dphhs.mt.gov/hcsd/energyassistance/ for assistance with both water and wastewater bills. People who qualify for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) may also qualify for the Low Income Home Water/Wastewater Assistance Program (LIHWAP) to pay a portion of an eligible household's water and wastewater bills, help avoid shutoffs, and help support household water system reconnections related to non-payment.
