More on Missoula Connect: Planning for transportation improvements is crucial to accommodate Missoula’s growing population. The Missoula Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is providing public input opportunities for the draft of Missoula Connect our region's 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan.
In the fall of 2020, the MPO oriented Missoula Connect around three transportation network scenarios designed to meet the publicly informed goals for our transportation system. Since then, the MPO and consultant team has continued their efforts by collecting input from the community and advisory committees to create a draft list of projects and programs. Before this data is integrated into the final plan, the public is encouraged to share their thoughts to implement any final feedback that may have been missed in prior outreach phases.
Once the team receives final input on the project list, selected programs, and policies, they will finalize a draft Missoula Connect for adoption. The team will produce a fiscally constrained list of recommended projects that will identify near-, medium-, and long-term priorities for the 30-year Missoula Connect horizon. They will review policy recommendations, adding partners and identifying the most important actions for the region, and bring all of this together into a draft plan for public review in May of 2021 and adoption in June of 2021.
