Welcome to the Missoula Police Department's online non-emergency crime reporting service. This service is provided for your convenience to report certain types of non-emergency crimes or incidents, as described below. This online form is for new reports only. Please do not submit supplemental information on this form. Please read all instructions before completing the form. If the crime you with to report is not listed below, or if you have any questions, please contact our 24-hour desk at (406) 552-6300.
Please fill out the form as completely and as accurately as possible. Please include detailed information, such as serial number, owner applied numbers or other markings, values for lost or damaged property. Also, include any partial information that you may have available. If you need to report more than one type of crime or multiple crimes, please send a separate online form for each event.
The Missoula Police Department can only accept reports on incidents occurring with the Missoula city limits. If you are unsure, please look at the city limits maps on our main page or call our police support specialists at (406)552-6300.
Online reports will be sent to our support specialists for review before a case report number is assigned. The case report number will be sent to you electronically or via the U.S. Postal Service, if an email address is not available once the case is reviewed. The case report number will usually be sent to you within 72 hours of the time your report is submitted. If you would like a printed copy for your records, you will have to respond to the Missoula Police Department located at 435 Ryman St, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM- 5 P.M. Please bring proper photo identification or the police report cannot be released.
This form should be used for:
1. Non-emergency type reports only
2. Non-violent crimes (There was no force used and there were no injuries to anyone, and/or no weapons were involved.)
3. Crimes in which the suspect is unknown.
4. The types of crimes listed below only.

This online form can only be used for reporting non-emergency crimes within the city limits of Missoula, Montana. You must be at least 18 years old to use this online reporting service. If you are under 18 and need help or wish to report an incident, please call 9-1-1 or our 24-hour desk number at 406-552-6300.
If this is an emergency or you are in danger call 9-1-1.
If the crime occurred at the University of Montana please contact UM Public Safety at (406) 243-6131.
If the crime outside the city limits of Missoula please contact the Missoula County Sheriff's Department for non-emergencies at (406) 258-3452.
FALSE REPORTING:
MCA 45-7-205. False reports to law enforcement authorities.
(1) A person commits an offense under this section if he knowingly:
(a) gives false information to any law enforcement officer with the purpose to implicate another;
(b) reports to law enforcement authorities an offense or other incident within their concern knowing that it did not occur; or
(c) pretends to furnish such authorities with information relating to an offense or incident when he knows he has no information relating to such offense or incident.
(2) A person convicted under this section shall be fined not to exceed $500 or be imprisoned in the county jail for any term not to exceed 6 months, or both.
